My name is Trey Plescher. I have a deep passion for writing, band, and pushing my mind and body to the limits.

Goals

My dream is to become the best writer I possibly can, while being able to share my mind with others — hopefully making a meaningful and lasting impact on those who take the time to read my works. I would rather change one person's life than just be mentioned by thousands.

I find the working life absolutely dreadful and boring: repeating the same things, day after day, over and over. If I can become a real writer, I can escape that fate.

Childhood and Past

As a kid, I was never perfect. I have ADHD, never truly fit in, and had a rough situation with my parents that meant living with my grandparents. Elementary school went relatively fine — I was immature, sure, but that was all.

Middle school was harder. I found myself trying to be something I wasn't. I was heavily depressed, stuck getting back together and breaking up with an ex, never really understanding what I was supposed to do. I hated labels, hated being lectured, hated being the odd one out. I overthink everything I do.

Then came high school. I finally quit football and soccer, finally stood up to my father, and started coming to terms with myself — finding a way to express it all: writing. It was the perfect therapy for that pain. I could finally let out emotions I'd spent years trying to bury, and turn those negative feelings into something beautiful.

"Even in this rotten world, I still want to walk the path I believe in!" Bruno Bucciarati — JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

What I Write About, and How

I love to write about romance and deep topics. None of my characters are perfect — every person has their own flaws. I like putting them through tough hardships, fundamentally changing them through those events, preferably for the better, and hopefully moving the reader too.

My stories should feel like something you can see actually happening — relatable, not complicated just to be complicated. Every story starts from something I'm fixating on deeply: a concept, a scene, or just a cool thing I saw. And for anyone paying close attention, I like to slip in subtle references to the things I'm into.

Other Interests

I'm Top 500 in two rhythm games, and hyper-competitive in every other game I play — I never let myself play just for fun, only to actually get better at what I enjoy.

I've played in my school's symphonic and marching band since 6th grade — tuba indoors, sousaphone on the field — five years running. I also love watching anime and reading manga: Chainsaw Man, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Bleach, and plenty more.

The Bibliography

A timeline of my known works, in the order I finished them. It isn't perfect, and it doesn't have everything — it's what I could find.

My Armadillo Narrative

A choose-your-own-adventure assignment I wrote with my mother's help, following Albert the armadillo's defenses against a puma — until a Roblox-inspired twist: a shadow, a blackout, a home where no one remembers him. The first proof I had something.

Hazard 1

A sprawling, unfinished collaboration with my friends: survivors stranded on a toxic-sea island, building a ship together. My first real attempt at a story — and the first time I found out I could do something my friends couldn't.

Random Literature

Two two-sentence horror stories I wrote (one quietly became three). Written on vacation, in a batch now mostly lost to time — this is what survived, caught in the margins of a math class.

A True Man's World

A Western I told through Johnny, grandson of George, led kindly through town — until the twist lands. The piece where my voice started to arrive.

Dream

A love story I wrote: Josuke, burnt out and overworked, finds Yasuho — and chooses happiness at Bagel Builders over the grind. The first piece that made people stop and tell me something about it. Enough that I started thinking about entering competitions.

The Price of Irene

Dream's inversion, and darker and deeper than it: a toxic relationship drags its antagonist to his lowest point, and his mother helps pull him back out. The one I entered into a New York Times writing competition.

Catch the Rainbow

One page of deep thought in the rain. My strongest flash piece to date.

The Apple

Told entirely from an apple's point of view — no sight, only feeling. Somehow I made it funny as hell. I edited it for publication in the school Literary Magazine.

Until the End of Time

Six pages I wrote, six stages of Alzheimer's, each page its own moment in time. I drew heavy inspiration from EATEOT.
